We're undertaking tree works on the Ruffey Linear Trail between Templestowe and RLP Boulevard. We expect it to take two to three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
We are undertaking tree works on the Ruffey Linear Trail between Templestowe, and the Boulevarde Playground at Ruffey Lake Park. The works start today and are expected to take two to three weeks, weather permitting.
The tree works are necessary to ensure tree longevity and ensure the safety of trail users. As part of the works, we will need to remove several invasive weeds and small to medium trees that have either died or are structurally damaged from storm damage.
We carefully manage our works to avoid disruption; however, you may notice some noise during working hours and when crews pass by properties.
Access to the trail will be restricted in some areas, but there will be no closures. Traffic control will be in place to help pedestrians and bike traffic.
Safety is our priority, and we ask for your assistance by following all instructions and signage. We also suggest that trail users and residents please allow extra time in their commutes during the works.
We want to continue to maintain a safe pathway for pedestrians and cyclists in our community and will review the path every three years as part of our Proactive Tree Inspection Program.
Replanting will be done between April and September to ensure the best chance of establishment and long-term viability.
We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout these works.
If you have any questions, please contact us on 9840 9333 or at manningham@manningham.vic.gov.au.
We're upgrading the two pedestrian crossings located at the Church Road North entrance of Ruffey Lake Park.
The existing pedestrian crossings will be replaced with two raised 'wombat' pedestrian crossings to enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
The construction works will begin mid-February and will take around one month to complete.
During this time, the Church Road North entry will be closed to vehicles except for local residents. However, alternative parking is available along Cricklewood Drive. Pedestrians will be able to access the area via a detour, and we kindly ask them to follow the directions of signs and staff.
This project is part of the Ruffey Lake Masterplan and is funded by our 2023/24 Capital Works Program.
Following the recent footpath construction on Church Road North, this upgrade will complete the pedestrian circuit from King Street through the park.
We thank you for your ongoing support and patience while we work to improve this open space.

One of Australia’s most important national occasions, ANZAC Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day in which we remember all Australians who served and died in all wars and operational service past and present.
Come along and mark the day at one of the RSL services in Manningham.
