If you know a local legend, who has made a real impact in our community, you can now submit a nomination to have their name feature on one of the tunnel boring machines (TBMs) that will help build North East Link.

The two TBMs will start building 6.5km twin tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen this year.

North East Link is naming these machines after women who dig deep in their communities. TBMs are traditionally given female names before they get to work underground, a custom dating back to the 1500s.

Head to the North East Link website to learn more and submit a nomination.
