Manningham Council is calling on our residents and visitors to the city to grab their camera (or their phones) and hit the streets, parks, reserves, shopping centres and open spaces to reveal their special part of Manningham.

Manningham Mayor, Cr Paul McLeish, is encouraging all under 18s, amateur/hobby and professional photographers, to get busy and enter the 2017 Manningham Community Calendar Photo Competition.

The competition opens on Monday 18 July 2016, with selected images to be featured in the 2017 Manningham Community Calendar.

Cr McLeish said, “Thanks to our heritage, our beautiful parks, waterways and sporting grounds we are lucky to live in an area which is truly photogenic.”

“The aim of the competition is to capture the very best of our great municipality and way of life. I encourage residents to submit a photo which really shows us what’s important to them in our City, and what they love about living and working in Manningham.”

“It is a wonderful opportunity to use your creativity and look at Manningham with a fresh set of eyes and capture your own piece of Manningham magic,” he said.

Entrants may submit as many photos as they wish before entries close on Friday 26 August 2016.

A selection of the best photos will be displaye online and the public will be invited to vote for their favourite photo from Friday 2 September to Friday 16 September.

The three winning photographs will each receive a prize. First prize: $600 prepaid money gift card, second prize: $400 prepaid money gift card, and third prize: $200 prepaid money gift card. Winners will be announced on Tuesday 20 September 2016.

The community is encouraged to follow Council’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/manninghamcouncil for regular competition updates.
